Cookie Policy

We use essential cookies to operate the site and optional analytics cookies to improve it. You can change your preferences at any time.

How we use cookies

This policy explains how PrivateSchools.cy uses cookies and similar technologies across our website and managed school dashboards. We only set optional cookies after you provide consent through the banner.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the site to function. They keep you signed in, maintain security protections, and remember your language preference. Because the service cannot operate without them, they are always active.

Analytics cookies

With your permission, we use privacy-centred analytics to understand how the platform is used. We currently rely on Google Analytics with IP masking enabled. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. You can disable analytics at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

Preference cookies

We remember a few choices so the site stays consistent between visits: your language and your cookie choice (cookies kept for 12 months), and the schools you save, your comparison notes and your school finder progress (kept only in your browser’s storage). If you sign in with Google, Google’s sign-in pages set their own cookies under Google’s policies.

Third-party technologies

Our maps load map images from OpenStreetMap and CARTO, and our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. These services receive your IP address when they load and may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Managing your choices

You are in control of non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent or change your settings without affecting your access to the core directory features.

  • Use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to reopen the cookie banner and change your choice at any time.
  • Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies after each session.
  • Install privacy tools that manage tracking technologies across multiple websites.
  • Opt out of analytics entirely by emailing support@privateschools.cy if you cannot access the banner.

How long cookies last

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for up to 12 months (Google Analytics cookies, if you accept analytics, for up to 2 years) unless you clear them sooner. We review all cookies regularly to ensure they are still needed.
